In the winter issue of Coastal Currents, we encouraged readers to fill out a survey about the magazine, which is now entering its seventh year of production.
Over a five-week period, more than 720 people logged onto the survey, and of those, 484 completed it. According to John Marling of Pulse Research, who conducted the survey for us, only 380 respondents were required to make the sample statistically valid. So, thanks for the good response!
Here are some things our readers said:
- Overall, readers gave Coastal Currents a 4.55 rating out of 5 points, with 72 percent giving it the highest rating.
- 84 percent of respondents have read the last four magazines.
- 74 percent gave the photography in the magazine a 5, and the overall average was 4.58 ★★★★★
- More than 90 percent of respondents rated "Coastal Currents encourages me to support local businesses" with a 4 or 5 – 4.57 average ★★★★★
- More than 90 percent said "Coastal Currents does a good job keeping me informed about things to do in the local area" – 4.55 average ★★★★★
- More than 87 percent said "Coastal Currents has introduced me to new places and activities in Grays Harbor" – 4.5 average ★★★★★
We’re still analyzing all the data, and reading the comments, but are heartened by both the number of people who responded and all the kind compliments and helpful suggestions.
As promised, we drew four names from those who filled out the survey to win a $250 gift certificate to their choice of grocery store – Swansons, Pickrite Thriftway, Shop’n Kart, Grocery Outlet and Ocean Shores IGA.
The winners were notified in February. They are Christine Peck of Aberdeen, Erin Jeffreys of Hoquiam, Lindsey Fry of Ocean Shores and Jessica Spitzer of Oakville.
Congratulations, again! And thanks to all who took the time to fill out the survey.
